Bob Bernard – President and CEO
A resourceful leader who has become well respected within the collegiate industry, Bob has spent most of his career working with universities to redefine their licensing programs. He has more than 20 years of collegiate licensing and marketing experience and will use his background to provide the strategic vision for Learfield Licensing Partners. Bob was inducted into the ICLA Hall of Fame in 2014. Prior to LLP, Bob founded Strategic Marketing Affiliates, Inc. (“SMA”), a licensing agency that focused on institutions with local and regional brands. Prior to being acquired by Learfield Sports, SMA had agreements with more than 350 institutions. Bob was the on-site marketing director at Purdue University from 1995-1997. During this period, he coordinated the efforts of licensing, merchandising, auxiliary events, corporate partnerships, media rights, and concessions. Prior to Purdue, he spent eleven years with Midmark Corporation as the midwest regional manager, earning “National Manager of the Year” in 1993 and “National Sales Representative of the Year” in 1990. Bob has an undergraduate degree from Purdue University, where he was a student-athlete. He has additional management training from the University of Michigan and Vanderbilt University.
